Day One: Working with the Media in a Crisis

Course Leader:
Eric MacInnes, Kenyon’s Crisis Communications Associate for the Middle East.

Description: This workshop focuses on the issues that businesses face when dealing with the media in a crisis. Based on real-life experience, it will be of interest to anyone whose role could put them or their team in direct contact with the media. We will also focus on some of the key Crisis Management lessons that Kenyon has learnt in handling different crises over many decades. The workshop includes some practical scenario-based exercises, as well as case studies from real-life situations.

Capacity: 25 participants

Day Two: Crisis Communications for Spokespeople

Course Leader:
Eric MacInnes, Kenyon’s Crisis Communications Associate for the Middle East.

Description: This workshop is aimed at those individuals within a company that will be media facing spokespeople in the event of a crisis. It focuses on what you can, and cannot say in a crisis, as well as the key audiences you will have to face, including the friends and families of those affected. We will look at preparing for an interview in order to control the conversation. There will also be opportunities to get in front of the camera, be interviewed about a fictional scenario and critique your own performance.

Capacity: 10 participants (due to the nature of the workshop experience)

Notes: Participation in one or both of the days is welcome. In addition to Eric, Kenyon’s Vice President, Business Development, Dr Mazen Bekdash, will also support the two days.
