Richard Steeves is Executive Chairman of Kenyon Emergency Services, providing direct strategic leadership to one of the world's foremost organisations in emergency response and crisis management.
Richard founded Synergy Health plc in 1991 and served as Chief Executive Officer for over two decades, building it into a major international provider of outsourced services to the healthcare industry. This included extensive contracts with the NHS and international health bodies, operating highly regulated gamma radiation and sterilisation facilities across multiple jurisdictions. That experience of serving public institutions where failure carries human consequences, under rigorous regulatory scrutiny, is directly formative for the work Kenyon does.
He has since served on four further public company boards, including as Chairman of two, spanning aviation, technology, and professional services. His governance experience across regulated industries, and his familiarity with the particular accountability that comes with public company stewardship, informs how Kenyon approaches its responsibilities to clients, families, and the communities it serves.
He read Natural Sciences at Cambridge and holds a doctorate. He brings to Kenyon a conviction that organisations trusted with the most difficult moments, crises that test the resilience of companies, governments, and families alike, earn that trust only through integrity, rigour, and genuine care for the people affected. That is the standard Kenyon holds itself to.
