Historical Incidents

The history of Kenyon’s response to mass fatality incidents dates back to 1929, when Kenyon provided services to Imperial Airways in England, where a plane crash claimed the lives of seven victims.

Since then Kenyon has responded to hundreds of air crashes all over the world, some of which have claimed the lives of hundreds of victims.

Of equal importance to Kenyon’s role in response to aviation related incidents is their involvement in non-aviation related disasters.

DSCF0763Kenyon team members are presently engaged in supporting Australia and Thailand along with more than two dozen other countries in the recovery and repatriation of those killed in the Asian Tsunami of December, 2004.

Kenyon teams were dispatched to The Cayman Islands, and three coastal regions of the State of Florida in the United States, after three hurricanes in the Fall of 2004 hit these areas.

item5In 1999, Kenyon supported a United States Federal Government Law Enforcement Agency with a temporary mortuary to support the recovery of mass graves. Additionally, Kenyon supported the London Metropolitan Police who responded to a train crash that took the lives of 30 victims. Kenyon responded to a tourist bus crash in South Africa, where 38 lives were lost.

item6In 1988, Kenyon responded to the fire onboard an oil rig. In 1996, Kenyon provided support to a ferry sinking on Lake Victoria in Tanzania, where there were 549 fatalities. In late 1999 and early 2000, Kenyon responded to a shipwreck accident in the United Kingdom, and recently completed a 9-month operation assisting the International Commission on Missing Persons by establishing programs to aid in the identification of over 20,000 victims of the war in the former Yugoslavia.

Kenyon’s role over the years has not changed—respond to mass fatality incidents in a thorough, professional manner, honoring the memory of the deceased, and providing comfort and solace to the surviving next of kin. Kenyon stands ready to serve you.
